Follow the glow of the Northern Light on a self-guided journey through a breathtaking world of festive wonder. With dazzling light & sound experiences, and magical moments around every corner, this experience is one for all ages.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Your journey begins at The Percy French where you’ll check in for the experience. From there, you can choose to stroll through the festive grounds to the hotel, or hop aboard the Christmas train, arriving in style at the entrance to start your adventure.
Once inside, you’ll travel through four themed rooms, each filled with wonder and excitement—venture into an ice cave, soar into the stars, and ultimately arrive at the source of the Northern Light itself. With immersive light and sound shows, interactive displays, and plenty of magical photo opportunities along the way, the experience promises to captivate all ages.
At the end of your journey, explore a traditional Christmas market where festive treats and crafts await. And to conclude your adventure, you can either take the train or enjoy a peaceful walk back to the exit, making for a truly magical experience from start to finish.

Santa will not be attending The Northern Light due to his busy schedule, however, he will be joining us for Santa Sunday Lunches throughout December. Learn More and Book.
Yes, throughout the experience a selection of seasonal snacks and drinks will be available to purchase. You’ll also have the chance to visit our traditional Christmas market for more festive treats.

The experience is self-guided and we would expect the journey to take a minimum of 45-minutes. The Christmas train is optional either to or from the experience and would take approximately 10 minutes. We invite all guests to stay and browse the Christmas market for as long as you’d like or extend your visit to Slieve Donard by visiting one of our bars and restaurants.
Yes, all tickets must be booked in advance online. Early booking is strongly recommended.
We have created additional Sensory Friendly time slots for The Northern Light experience. The Sensory Friendly experience is a specially allocated time slot designed to be more accessible for individuals who may be sensitive to sensory stimulation. This version of the experience includes:
- Reduced foot traffic for a calmer, more peaceful experience.
- Subtle lighting adjustments to avoid overwhelming brightness.
- Controlled light levels throughout the experience to ensure comfort for those with light sensitivities.
