Golf on the
Causeway Coast and Glens
From hallowed turf to hidden gems
With surroundings that capture the beauty of shore and sea, there’s no better backdrop for a spot of golf than Portush’s beautiful golden sand beaches and coastal views.
With Royal Portrush Golf Club getting set to host 2025’s Open Championship, the sport is bigger and better than ever in the region. But if you look a little further, there’s plenty more to discover — with a realm of courses conveniently close to Portrush Adelphi’s front door.
Royal Portrush Golf Club
Home of the 153rd Open
Just one mile from the hotel, Royal Portrush is one of the most prestigious courses on the planet. Uniquely placed on Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast, Royal Portrush is situated in the Glens area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Neatly nestled in a triangle of giant sandhills, Royal Portrush presents breathtaking views at every angle, from the hills of Donegal in the west to the iconic Giant’s Causeway in the east.
Royal Portrush is also home to one of the most challenging golf courses in the world, Dunluce Links, which is aptly named after Dunluce Castle – the 13th-century ruins that tower over the course.

Portstewart Golf Club
A little more than five miles from Portrush, you’ll find Portstewart Golf Club. Founded in 1894, Portstewart is home to three fine true-links golf courses, a remarkable feat for the region and on the international stage.
The outstanding Championship Strand Course was the host for the 2017 Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open, impressing winner Jon Rahm so greatly that he cited Portstewart Golf Club to be “probably one of the most beautiful golf courses, if not the most” he had ever seen.
Bushfoot Golf Club
Located in Bushmills, you’ll find the beauty of Bushfoot Golf Club. An exceptional golf experience, this 18-hole par 70 course is a true gem of the Northern Irish golf coast. Alongside being one of the best courses in the area, Bushfoot Golf Club is the perfect spot to admire some of the region’s greatest landmarks including The Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede.

Ballycastle Golf Club
Just under 20 miles from Portrush Adelphi is Ballycastle Golf Club. Founded in 1890, this spectacular course sits mere yards from the shoreline of the Causeway Coast, making it one of the most scenic spots for the sport in the region.
One noteworthy aspect of Ballycastle’s beauty is how varied an experience you’ll enjoy. Unlike many other courses, Ballycastle’s terrain changes course-on-course, from historic parkland holes to wild links landscapes. Take stock while playing on seaside hills to experience unique views of the town of Ballycastle, Fair Head, and Rathlin Island, while on the clearest of days, you’ll spot the Mull of Kintyre and some of the western isles of Scotland.
Castlerock Golf Club
Located in the seaside resort of Castlerock, this impressive namesake golf club has previously been awarded Ireland’s Hidden Gem for Links Golf on the North Coast.
Situated just five miles west of Coleraine on the North Coast, Castlerock is set among rolling dunes — making it an ideal retreat to visit and play. While you’re there, see the River Bann flowing out to the Atlantic, catch views of Donegal and try to spot the Isle of Islay on bright, sunny days.

Cushendall Golf Club
Based in the centre of the Glens of Antrim, Cushendall Golf Club is a stunning yet challenging nine-hole course founded in 1937. At its very heart is the tranquillity of the river Dall, which meanders through the course to the legendary Sea of Moyle.
At 34 miles from Portrush Adelphi, it’s a little further than other courses, yet its unique beauty makes it a must-play on your stay.
Gracehill Golf Club
One of the top 18-hole parkland courses in the area, Gracehill Golf Course is set amongst beautiful parkland outside the village of Stranocum near Ballymoney.
Gracehill is the course to visit for a truly different experience, with American-style water hazards, heathlands and mature woodland creating a challenging yet rewarding play that is completely unique in Ireland.

Kilrea Golf Club
Travel just over 20 miles from your suite and you’ll find Kilrea Golf Club. Founded in 1919, it’s around half a mile southwest of the town, making it a great stop off on a golf road trip. As one of the driest courses in the area, Kilrea Golf Club is a place to pin for the rainier days, as its well-drained course means it often remains open despite the Irish elements.
Plus, the course sits at 5,672 yards long, making it superior to the typical nine-hole course.
Manor Golf Club
Head to Manor Golf Club, a nine-hole golf course covering over 4000 yards of lush green fairway.
Opened for play in 1991, Manor Golf Club also has the perfect set-up for relaxing after a few rounds. Sit back on their large balcony overlooking the course and on-site lake – the ideal spot for sunny evenings.

Roe Park Resort Golf Club
Located in the heart of County Londonderry, Roe Park Resort Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course with plenty of wow factor.
With the beauty of Lough Foyle and the Inishowen Peninsula as your backdrop, this scenic course offers the optimum balance of stunning views and challenging golf.
